A railway themed Christmas tree featured in the annual Christmas Tree Festival at St Andrew's Church in Corbridge. Station adopters, the Friends of Corbridge Station, used their creative skills to build an unusual tree including tickets, Northern and Railway 200 bunting, Tyne Valley Railway facemasks, Arlo’s Adventures rail safety book and a train set.

As one of a series of Mayor Meets events throughout the North East, Tyne Valley Community Rail Partnership were invited to officiate at a meeting organised by Prudhoe Labour Party and the North East CA (North East Combined Authority). The meeting gave local people the opportunity to raise issues about public transport with the North East Mayor, Kim McGuiness.

As a result of the engineering work on the West Coast Main Line, a limited service will run on the Tyne Valley Railway on 1 January 2026. Normally, no services operate on New Year's Day. This is a very welcome development as the route is one of the few in the country that does not have a New Year's Day service.

In Spring 2025, Paul Vickers, station adoption lead at Stocksfield Railway Station, and our officer, Fiona Forsythe held a rail safety event with the 1st Stocksfield Beavers. This was part of the national Platforms for Change initiative, which links community rail and scouting to engage and empower scout groups through a range of activity, station projects and rail confidence trips.
