The next railway themed talk will explore the legacy of North East railway pioneer, Robert Stephenson. We are delighted that members of the Robert Stephenson Trust will be coming along to the Old Booking Hall on Thursday, 16 October to talk about this great railway innovator. Incidentally, the talk coincides with Robert Stephenson's birthday.

As one of our projects celebrating Railway 200, future pioneers and careers in the rail industry, we have worked with singer songwriters, Gareth and Bronwen Davies-Jones, Hallbankgate Village School and Lanercost CoE Primary School. Entitled “A Song for Edmondson”, the project introduced the children to many new skills and experiences based on Brampton's railway heritage.

Tyne Valley Community Rail Partnership and children from schools in the Brampton area will be celebrating two hundred years of rail travel in a musical performance taking place in Lanercost Priory on Tuesday, 1 July.
